Cognex In-Sight and VisionPro

Cognex makes vision systems, smart cameras and barcode readers used on production lines across many industries. Its In-Sight cameras and VisionPro software handle classic rule-based inspection, such as measuring a gap or checking that a part is present, and the company also sells deep learning tools for defects that are hard to describe with rules, like scratches, stains or uneven welds.

Inspection runs on the camera or an industrial PC at the line, so it keeps working without a cloud connection. Success depends as much on lighting, optics and mounting as on software. Collect real good and bad samples early, agree with quality on what counts as a defect, and plan how rejects are handled. Many plants work with a Cognex partner or integrator for the first installation.
