Computational design software for lattices, heat exchangers and complex geometry, often used for additive manufacturing.
Cloud CAD, CAM and CAE in one tool, with generative design that proposes part shapes from loads and constraints.
Autodesk Fusion combines CAD modeling, CAM toolpaths, simulation and electronics design in one cloud-connected product. Its generative design feature takes the loads, keep-out zones, materials and manufacturing method you specify, then produces a set of part shapes that meet them, which an engineer reviews and refines.
For machine shops and product teams the appeal is having design and toolpaths in the same file, so a change to the model updates the CAM setup. Generative results still need engineering judgment: check them in simulation, think about inspection and finishing, and confirm the shape suits the process you will actually use. Autodesk offers a free license for personal, non-commercial use; business use needs a paid subscription, so check current terms. For CAM, confirm post-processors exist for your machines and controls.
